Licensed Massage Therapist
Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner
Certified Yoga Teacher
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner
Thanks for taking some time to learn about the therapeutic treatments and yoga classes I offer. My interest in good health, self-expression through movement, and helping began at a young age. Later in college, studying psychology and theatre led to further interest into the complexities of mind and behavior.
In 1996 my journey towards greater health and peace led to Yoga - a philosophy for life and practice which finally integrated and clarified my understanding of body, mind and spirit.
Since then, I have pursued working with extraordinary yoga teachers in America and India - B.K.S. Iyengar, S.N. Goenka, John Friend, Peentz Dubble, Todd Norian. From Yoga to massage school has been a natural progression. Nationally Certified, I am a graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute in Watertown, MA; Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner trained with the Lotus Palm School in Montreal, and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner and mentor. The therapeutic massage treatments I offer draw upon a variety of techniques, including Myofacial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Swedish, and Sports Massage. The Thai Yoga Massage is a graceful blend of bodywork awareness using yoga postures, Ayurveda, meditation, and movement.
My yoga classes are mainly influenced by the by the teachings of John Friend (Anusara Yoga) and B.K.S. Iyengar (Iyengar Yoga). Classes are safe, fun, challenging, creative - a celebration of being alive! Yoga leads to increased self-awareness, freedom, balance. Bodywork compliments, supports, enhances yoga.
My other interest include long walks in the woods, knitting, teaching meditation class, modeling for artists, and being an aunt.
